Marcello Magalhaes

Over the past 12 years, Marcello Magalhaes has taught 100s of account planners the art and science of strategic thinking at Miami Ad School ESPM São Paulo. When asked why he does it, he simply explains, “I’m just spreading out my experience and getting constantly challenged by new and fresh minds.”

Alas, all good things must come to an end.

Yesterday, Leo Burnett USA named Marcello it’s new Chief Strategy Officer. He will also take over global strategic responsibilities for McDonald’s and work across the agency’s roster of clients. He will start his new role in March.

Marcello will be succeeding former CSO Mick McCabe (another Miami Ad School instructor), who was just named Global Chief Strategy Officer for Publicis Worldwide.

Congratulations go out to both gentlemen! They have so generously given of their time and energy over the years to educate the next generation of strategic professionals. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer couple of guys.
