Join us for the opening night of "Litterati: Using Technology to Clean the Planet" Monday, January 25th at Miami Ad School San Francisco

Miami Ad School San Francisco copywriting instructor Jeff Kirschner will exhibit photographs from his ongoing project Litterati, which is harnessing the power of social media and geo-tagging technology to quantify the problem, educate the public about the issue and clean up the planet—one piece of litter at a time.

The exhibition, which opens at 5:30 p.m., Monday the 25th of January at Miami Ad School San Francisco, features 20 large-format prints selected from the over 160,000 images Instagram users have contributed to the project. Jeff will speak on the genesis of Litterati and the impact that the project is having, not only by encouraging individuals to clean-up their surroundings, but also by creating a database that can be used to identify the specifics of the problem—the what, where, and when—and aid in developing solutions from a governmental and corporate perspective.

The images will remain on display for two weeks. The exhibition sets the stage for Miami Ad School San Francisco’s Bootcamp for Account Planners which will feature the Litterati project as the principal client for the entire 12-week program. This year’s Bootcamp begins on April 4th; the application deadline is February 29th.

Miami Ad School San Francisco’s Bootcamp for Account Planners is an intense, true-to-the-business program designed to prepare graduates for a career in this quickly evolving discipline. Students are taught by industry professionals and work with art director and copywriter teams for real clients. Past clients have included UNICEF, Starbucks, Yahoo!, Chevrolet, Wendy’s, and Mini.
