What kind of background do I need to have?

Our students are like snowflakes, no two are alike. Are you a lawyer who is bursting with creativity and needs to get out of that large law firm? Did you just graduate with a 4-year degree and realize that you really need a portfolio to get your dream job? Have you always been creative and wanted a career rather than be a starving artist? Then this school is for you!

Do I need a degree to attend Miami Ad School?

No. While our “typical” student—in as far as we have a typical student—does come to us with an undergraduate degree (88% of them do), a 12th passing certificate is the only educational achievement required for our program.

If I am interested in a couple of locations which one should I apply to?

Apply to the one Miami Ad School location you are most interested in attending. If, after you’re accepted, you change your mind and want to attend a different location your acceptance is transferable. You will only need to fill out the enrollment form for that new location and pay the corresponding tuition rate.

How are the schools different from each other?

The programs offered in each location follow the same curriculum. But, as you might expect, every school reflects the character of their city, and draws upon the local advertising and creative communities, so each offers its own unique opportunities. With 15 locations around the world, the question isn’t where you want to go to school, but where you want to start your Miami Ad School journey. Where you go is up to you.

Can I do more than one major?

Our portfolio programs are designed to prepare you to be a creative with skills that are broad and appropriate. Although you only have time to study one major in your two years here, you will get a lot of cross pollination. Copywriters take Adobe Creative Suite. Art directors take a writing course. You will be well prepared no matter which major you choose!

How long are the Programs?

Portfolio Programs:

  • Art Direction – 2 years (8 quarters)
  • Copywriting – 2 years (8 quarters)
  • Digital Design – 2 years (8 quarters)

Boot Camps:

  • Account Planning – 3 months (1 quarter)

What Quarter should I start?

The portfolio programs in art direction, copywriting and digital design start four times a year: January, April, July or October. The quarters are identical so start at the time of year that is most convenient for you. Check the APPLY section or contact your admissions advisor for details.

Boot camps in account planning are mostly offered once a year. The time of year the boot camp is offered varies by location. Check the APPLY section or contact your admissions advisor for details.

How do I get an Application?

All application requirements and due dates for each location and program can be found in the APPLY section. You can DOWNLOAD program brochures and the catalog.

Is financial aid available?

The Mumbai school provides scholarships to deserving students. The decision to reward scholarship depends on the School authorities solely.

What is Quarter Away?

The Quarter Away option allows students in the portfolio programs to study and intern in up to four additional cities around the world.*  Click on the INTERNSHIPS section to see the different options and read stories from our students about their amazing experiences. 

*Please note:  

Miami Ad School New York students, due to NY state regulations, are eligible for one Quarter Away within New York during their 8th quarter.

International students within the United States can intern in agencies outside of the US, participate in Agency Labs, Intern Labs or attend other Miami Ad School locations. International students are not eligible to intern within the US.

Boot camp students don’t participate in Quarter Away. Sorry guys. 

What is tuition?

Portfolio programs:  art direction, copywriting, digital design:

Tuition fee for the 2 year program is Rs 16,00,000 (Rupees Sixteen Lakhs) plus applicable taxes. Payments are accepted for two quarters at a time on half-yearly basis of Rs. 4,00,000 (Rupees Four Lakhs) each in four installments over two years.

Account Planning Boot Camp:

Tuition is Rs. 2 Lakh + Taxes for the 12-week program.

What do students do for housing?

All of our out of town students rent apartments. If you have questions about an individual location just contact the school you are interested in attending. They will suggest apartments or real estate agents that you can contact. If you’re interested in having a roommate the school can connect you with other new students who want to share an apartment. 

Is Miami Ad School accredited?

Yes! Miami Ad School is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education or, COE.

What is your placement rate?

Very high. Nosebleed high—96% placement within six months of graduation as of our last survey, averaged across all of our programs. We constantly work to bring our grads job opportunities. Many graduates meet their future employers at one of Miami Ad School’s Portfolio Reviews. Some are hired as a result of impressive internship performances, some by teachers who spot a student they know is a “keeper.” The school receives many requests for job opportunities every year—at all levels of experience—from agencies and firms looking to hire our graduates. These we pass along to our grads.

What is the average starting salary for graduates?

Based on the most recent graduate survey data, the starting salary for the  majority of Miami Ad School graduates in the India is between Rs.4,50,000 and Rs.7,50,000 annually. We’re now seeing starting salaries of over Rs.8,00,000 in certain parts of the country.
